A brand-new dating reality show that pierces through the essence of life and love is coming to viewers.
Premiering on Monday, August 3, at 10 PM, the new SBS variety program "My Remaining Love" (literal title) is a dating reality show featuring young people in their 20s and 30s who have faced terminal illness or life-threatening experiences, as they confront life and love once again.
The program began with a profound question: "If I had little time left, who would I love?" It captures the journey of young people who have experienced the finiteness of life closer than anyone else as they seek true love through the "today" they have been given. The participants are expected to deliver a fresh and deep resonance to viewers by honestly facing the scars left by their past pain while focusing more intensely than anyone else on their current love.
In particular, "My Remaining Love" introduces a unique matching system where men and women exchange "time" with each other every night, promising a level of tension and immersion that differentiates it from existing dating programs. Furthermore, unexpected, fateful narratives and cinematic connections between the male and female participants—which even the production team that cast them did not anticipate—are set to unfold, leading to an unpredictable love line.
The star-studded host lineup, which will maximize the audience's immersion, is also drawing attention. Actor Lee Seyoung, singer Jung Yong-hwa, SEVENTEEN's DK, and YENA will work together as studio MCs. Composed of members in a similar age group to the participants, they will provide support by deeply empathizing with the realistic concerns and dating stories of the youth.
Lee Seyoung, who is taking on the challenge of being a dating show host for the first time since her debut, showed sincere immersion by shedding tears at the participants' stories from the very first recording. Jung Yong-hwa, known as a representative "dating show addict" in the entertainment industry, will play the role of a facilitator who keenly reads the subtle love lines. Adding to this is the charm of SEVENTEEN's DK, who deeply identifies with the cast through his characteristic warmth, and the performance of YENA, who will display deep empathy based on her own experience of overcoming childhood cancer while also demonstrating sharp analytical skills, creating exceptional synergy.
The show is directed by PD Lee Eun-sol, who gained significant attention for the unconventional "Fortune Tellers' Love," a dating show featuring Millennials and Gen Z fortune tellers. PD Lee Eun-sol, who sensually unraveled fundamental human emotions and unpredictable relationships in her previous work, stated, "I wanted to sincerely capture the unique and special sincerity of young people who know the finiteness of life better than anyone else, and how hot and brilliant they love during the time they are given." She added, "Amazing connections and relationships that even the production team did not expect continued until the end. Please show a lot of support and anticipation for the participants' stories."
The special dating record of youth, who are more desperate and therefore more dazzling than ever, "My Remaining Love" will premiere on Monday, August 3, at 10 PM.
