Homeplus Suspends Operations at Large Stores Starting Today... "Cannot Afford Operating Costs"

Homeplus will temporarily suspend operations at its large retail stores starting today, July 13.

In a press release, Homeplus announced its decision to enter a temporary shutdown of its large-scale supermarkets effective today.

The company stated that for businesses located within the malls attached to the supermarkets, store owners may continue operations if they wish to do so.

Explaining the reason for the temporary closure, Homeplus stated, "Our operating funds have been completely exhausted, and we are in a situation where we cannot afford even the basic operating costs to maintain the stores, including utility bills, let alone payments for merchandise."
