As a heat wave warning remains in effect today (July 12), a series of heat-related illnesses, including heatstroke, have been reported across North Chungcheong Province.
According to fire authorities and other sources, a Filipino national in his 40s collapsed from heat exhaustion at a farm in Susan-myeon, Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, around 10:20 a.m. today and was transported to a hospital.
Around 2:00 p.m., a man in his 50s who was working on a roof in Naesu-eup, Cheongwon-gu, Cheongju, was transported to a hospital after showing symptoms of heat cramps.
Earlier today, at 12:01 p.m., a report was received regarding a man in his 40s experiencing heat cramps while exercising in Geumwang-eup, Eumseong County. However, his condition improved, and he was not transported to a hospital.
From May 16, when the first patient was reported, through yesterday, a total of 26 people have suffered from heat-related illnesses in the province.
