U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that if Iran attempts to assassinate him, he will completely destroy the entire country.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social on July 10 (local time), President Trump stated, "If the Iranian government carries out its repeated threats to assassinate or attempt to assassinate a sitting U.S. President—me—1,000 missiles are already locked and loaded on Iran, with thousands more to follow immediately."
He added, "The order has already been given, and the U.S. military is prepared, willing, and capable of decimating and completely destroying all of Iran for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension if necessary."
He concluded the post by writing, "PRAISE BE TO ALLAH!"
President Trump had previously claimed on July 8 that he is "number one on Iran's assassination list."
Following the NATO summit, Trump changed his private jet while returning to the United States from Turkey, leading to speculation that the move was a precaution against potential assassination threats from Iran.
Earlier that day, President Trump officially declared the end of the ceasefire with Iran.
With ongoing attacks on merchant vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and subsequent retaliatory U.S. airstrikes, the ceasefire between the two nations is on the verge of collapse.
