Pitcher Go Woo-suk has finally made his long-awaited Major League Baseball debut, three years after heading to the United States. Although he gave up his first home run, he also recorded his first strikeout, marking an unforgettable day.

After signing with San Diego in 2024 and spending over two years in the minor leagues waiting for an opportunity, Go Woo-suk was recently traded to Minnesota and registered as the 30th Korean Major Leaguer. He finally took the mound in the big leagues in the ninth inning, with his team trailing Cleveland 4 to 2.
Go started off on a positive note by inducing a groundout to first base from the first batter, Schneemann. Although he gave up his first home run to the next batter, Bailey, after a slider drifted into the middle of the zone, he did not waver further.
Facing Kwan, who boasts some of the best contact skills in the big leagues, Go engaged in a 10-pitch battle, throwing fastballs reaching up to 154 km/h. He eventually induced a swing and miss with a high splitter to record his first strikeout.
Go finished his debut inning by inducing a groundout to first base from Bazana, who played for the Australian national team in the WBC last March, allowing one run in one inning of work.

As if to celebrate the big league debut of his brother-in-law Go Woo-suk, Lee Jung-hoo also put in a strong performance.
After being left out of the starting lineup for the game against Colorado, Lee entered as a defensive substitute and, in his first at-bat in the seventh inning, lifted a low-dropping changeup to hit a double that bounced off the right-field wall.
