Broadcaster Park Na-rae, who has been under investigation for allegations of assault and various forms of abuse of power against her managers, has been referred to the prosecution.
The Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced on Friday (July 10) that it has forwarded the case of Park Na-rae to the prosecution on charges of special assault and violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
Previously, two of Park's former managers filed a complaint against her in December of last year, accusing her of special injury, defamation by spreading false information, and violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
They claimed that Park forced them to perform various personal errands and private requests, and even assigned them tasks related to her family, effectively using them as domestic helpers.
They also submitted medical certificates indicating two weeks of treatment, alleging that Park threw drinking glasses at them at her home in August 2023 and August 2024, causing injuries.
Park's side previously denied the allegations, stating, "Such a situation never occurred," and adding, "While I have thrown a glass on the floor, I have never thrown one at a specific person."
Meanwhile, the Gangnam Police Station stated that it is continuing its investigation into other allegations related to Park, including a suspected violation of the Medical Service Act regarding the receipt of illegal medical procedures from a so-called unlicensed practitioner.
