[Anchor] First, a foreign woman who was acting incoherent in front of a supermarket was found to have bundles of cash inside a black plastic bag she was carrying.
This incident occurred recently at a supermarket in Seoul.
Police were dispatched after receiving a report about a foreigner in need of assistance and discovered a foreign woman inside the supermarket.
However, the black plastic bag and the bag she was carrying contained large bundles of 50,000 won bills.
The total amount was a staggering 160 million won.
When police asked about the source of the cash, the woman kept changing her story, saying, "It is my money," and then, "Half of it is my family's money."
Furthermore, she was not in possession of a passport.
While checking her mobile phone, police discovered a text message that read, "I am going to Korea to earn money. But what if I get caught?" and similar content was also found in her memo application.
The investigation revealed that the woman was acting under the instructions of a voice phishing organization, attempting to convert gold stolen from victims into cash to deliver to the organization.
The police have seized the entire amount of criminal proceeds and arrested the woman.
