Heavy rainfall, primarily concentrated in the central region, has led to the evacuation of over 100 people and a series of reports regarding facility damage.
The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety reported as of 11:00 p.m. yesterday (July 8) that 140 people from 128 households in the Chungcheong and North Gyeongsang regions have been temporarily evacuated.
A total of 45 cases of facility damage have been reported, including flooded homes and greenhouses, as well as submerged farmland.
Operations for 30 passenger ships and 3 flights have been disrupted, and access to 179 locations, including national parks and certain river access paths, has been restricted.
However, no casualties have been reported.
The government has activated Level 1 of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters and is responding to the situation, warning that intensive rainfall is expected nationwide, with 50 to 80 mm of heavy rain per hour forecast for the Jeolla region starting early this morning.
