Jeong, where is the rain falling the hardest right now?

If you look at the radar with me, you can see that a strong band of rain clouds has developed, centered over the southern part of Chungcheong-do.
We can also confirm the rainfall through this CCTV footage; in areas like Gyeryong, very intense rain is pouring down at a rate of about 49mm per hour.
Because of this rain, as you heard earlier, there have been a series of accidents on wet roads.
This morning (July 8), as you can see here on the Pyeongtaek-Jecheon Expressway, a truck overturned and blocked the road, causing severe traffic congestion in the area that lasted for over three hours.
To summarize the situation today:
Warm air has settled over the Yeongnam region, while cold air is positioned over the Seoul metropolitan area, creating a strong band of rain clouds between them.
In particular, the Chungcheong region, which is located at the center where the cold and warm air masses are colliding, has experienced very strong and heavy rainfall.
Looking at the accumulated rainfall, as you can see, a large amount of rain fell in the areas marked in purple in South Chungcheong Province, with 130 to 150mm of intense monsoon rain pouring down in Buyeo and Gyeryong.

Then, which regions are expected to see the most rain going forward?

We expect a lot of rain to continue through the night.
Looking at the projected accumulated rainfall, 80mm to as much as 200mm or more is expected in Chungcheong-do and Jeonbuk-do, and heavy rain is also expected in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon-do, and the northern part of Gyeongsang-do.
In particular, Chungcheong and Jeonbuk may see very heavy downpours between dawn and the morning, so please be cautious about safety accidents.
However, the weather in the south and the north may differ tomorrow.
Currently, heatwave advisories have been issued for the Yeongnam region.
If we look at the heatwave advisory situation, a heatwave advisory is in effect for the inland areas of Yeongnam, and southern regions—specifically Jeju, Gwangju, and Daegu—even experienced tropical nights where temperatures remained above 25°C (77°F) overnight.
Chungju also recorded its first tropical night in the central region today.
As I mentioned earlier, because the warm air in the south and the cold air in the north are clashing head-on, the weather in the south and north is expected to be quite different.
Tomorrow, hot weather with heatwaves and tropical nights is expected to continue, mainly in the Yeongnam region, and by Friday, when the rain stops, the first tropical night of the season is expected to occur in the Seoul metropolitan area as well.
