Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants in Major League Baseball has extended his hitting streak to five consecutive games.
Lee started as the fifth hitter and center fielder in a home game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Oracle Park in San Francisco, recording one hit, one walk, and one run in three at-bats.
His season batting average remained at .315 (98 hits in 311 at-bats).
After flying out in his first at-bat in the first inning, Lee faced his second at-bat in the fourth inning with no outs and a runner on first, with his team leading 1-0.
Down to a two-strike count, he hit a clean single to center field off Toronto starting pitcher Kevin Gausman.
With Lee’s hit setting up a no-out, runners on first and third situation, the third-base runner scored during a double play hit by the following batter, Willy Adames.
In the sixth inning, Lee helped spark a big scoring rally by inducing an error from the opponent.
Stepping to the plate with no outs and a runner on first, Lee hit a grounder toward shortstop, which Toronto third baseman Kazuma Okamoto failed to field, committing an error.
The next batter, Adames, drew a walk, and with one out and the bases loaded, Victor Bericoto hit a timely base hit, allowing the runner on third and Lee, who was on second, to score.
Lee completed a multi-base-reach game by drawing a walk in the seventh inning.
The San Francisco Giants defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 10-1.
