▲ Traffic accident in Seogwipo, Jeju
A three-vehicle collision in Jeju has left one person dead and four others injured.
The Seogwipo Police Station and the Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters stated that the accident occurred at approximately 10:04 p.m. yesterday (July 6) on Iljudong-ro in Seohong-dong, Seogwipo, involving a Nissan SUV, a GV80 sedan, and an EV6 SUV.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Nissan SUV, identified as a person in their 60s surnamed A, died. The driver of the GV80, a person in their 50s surnamed B, sustained a leg injury and is currently receiving treatment.
Three individuals who were in the EV6 also sustained minor injuries and are scheduled to receive medical treatment.
Police believe that the Nissan SUV, which was heading west, crossed the center line and drove against traffic before colliding with the two oncoming vehicles in succession. Authorities are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
Additionally, police plan to request an analysis from the National Forensic Service to determine whether A was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
