A man has been arrested by police for causing a fatal accident while driving under the influence, striking a motorcycle and killing its rider.
The Seoul Gwangjin Police Station announced today (July 5) that they have arrested a man in his 30s, identified as A, on charges of dangerous driving resulting in death under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Crimes.
Around 12:40 a.m. today, A rear-ended a motorcycle that was waiting at a traffic light at an intersection in Gwangjin-gu.
The rider, a man in his 50s, was transported to a hospital but later died.
Police determined that A's blood alcohol concentration was at a level warranting the revocation of his driver's license.
The police plan to request an arrest warrant for A.
