Man in His 80s Arrested After Stabbing 2 People at Hair Salon

A man in his 80s has been arrested for attacking two people with a weapon at a hair salon in Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do.

KNN reporter Choi Hyeok-gyu has the story.

A hair salon in downtown Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do.

A man is seen pacing outside before suddenly rushing inside.

Moments later, a woman who had been stabbed runs out, and nearby citizens are seen fleeing in shock.

Shortly after, another victim, a man, also exits the salon bleeding.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. today.

The suspect, a man in his 80s identified as A, suddenly attacked a salon employee and a customer with a weapon.

This is the scene of the incident.

Immediately after the crime, A sat calmly inside the salon until he was apprehended by police officers who arrived at the scene.

It is believed that A had prepared two weapons in advance before entering the salon.

[Witness]: At first, I thought it was dogs fighting. I walked past for two or three seconds, but then I heard serious screaming. When I looked, a woman came out bleeding, holding her chest and bowing her head as she approached...

The two victims were transported to a hospital for treatment, and it is reported that they have both regained consciousness.

Police transported A to a hospital after he claimed to have ingested poison following the crime. Authorities are currently monitoring his health condition while investigating the exact motive behind the attack.
