President Lee Jae-myung attended the 'Chungcheong Region Advanced Industry Development Vision Public Report' held in Asan, South Chungcheong Province.
At the event, President Lee plans to encourage business leaders who have decided on large-scale investments in the Chungcheong region and express the government's commitment to providing active support accordingly.
Prior to this, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, SK Hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung, and Celltrion Chairman Seo Jung-jin are scheduled to attend and announce their respective investment plans for the Chungcheong region.
It is reported that Samsung will unveil plans for investment in cutting-edge materials and components, SK will announce plans for NAND and advanced packaging investments, and Celltrion will disclose plans for factory expansion to foster the bio-industry.
Following this, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jeong-gwan will present the strategy for fostering next-generation advanced industries in the Chungcheong region.
This event was organized as a follow-up to the 'Republic of Korea Great Leap Forward 3 Major Mega-Projects Public Report' held under President Lee's leadership on June 29.
President Lee held a public report for the Southwest region on June 30, and is scheduled to hold a public report for the Yeongnam region in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, on July 3.
