Singer CHOI YOOJUNG has shared heartwarming stories about the enduring loyalty of her fellow I.O.I members.
On the July 1 broadcast of SBS Power FM's Wendy's Young Street, CHOI YOOJUNG appeared as a guest to celebrate her return with her new solo album, Perfect Target, released after a four-year hiatus. She joined special DJ Hayoung for a conversation.
When a listener sent in a message expressing excitement about potential dance challenges featuring I.O.I members, CHOI YOOJUNG shared a touching anecdote. "All the I.O.I members are so loyal," she said, expressing her gratitude. "They often reach out first to ask when we should film a challenge, and they have even filmed them with me right in the middle of group dinners."
When asked to pick the most loyal member of the group, CHOI YOOJUNG immediately named CHUNG HA. "I think if you were to represent loyalty as a person, it would be CHUNG HA," she said, showing her deep affection.
CHOI YOOJUNG also brought laughter to the studio by embracing her reputation as a crybaby in the entertainment industry. Admitting that she cries easily, she shared an unexpected story about a recent video call with Son Dong-pyo, formerly of the group MIRAE. "I was on a video call with Son Dong-pyo, and seeing how much he resembles me, I suddenly thought, 'What would it be like to have a younger brother like him?' and I started crying," she recalled, bringing fresh laughter to the listeners.
Additionally, CHOI YOOJUNG, who took on the challenge of composing for the first time since her debut, shared a cute behind-the-scenes story, saying, "Because it was my first time working on it, I said 'I'm sorry' so many times." She also raised anticipation for her unreleased tracks stored in her memo app. At the end of the broadcast, CHOI YOOJUNG and special DJ Hayoung performed a sweet, impromptu duet of the I.O.I classic Downpour, leaving a lasting impression on the listeners.
