SBS's Tails of Tales is set to delve into the dark side of a brutal kidnapping case that left South Korea in shock back in 1994.
The episode airing on the night of July 2 is titled The Four Kidnappers – Who Is Lying? The guest listeners joining the show include ZHANG HAO of the group AND2BLE, singer SOYOU, and actor Park Tam-hee.
This broadcast will cover the 10-year-old girl kidnapping and murder case that once gripped all of Busan in fear, tracking the harrowing truth of that day that never made it into the court verdict.
The incident began in Busan in 1994. A 10-year-old girl vanished without a trace from her peaceful neighborhood, and the prime suspect identified was, shockingly, the victim's older cousin, Na Kyung-ae (a pseudonym). The nation was further stunned when the missing child's body was discovered inside Na's home.
Upon her arrest, Na claimed during police questioning, "I didn't do it alone. There are three accomplices." This statement led the investigation into a new phase. However, the three friends she named reacted very differently. They provided clear alibis for the day of the crime and pleaded their innocence, with one even completely denying that she knew Na Kyung-ae, causing confusion in the investigation. Among the four suspects with conflicting testimonies, who was the real culprit?
The anger and shock expressed by the guest listeners are also key points to watch. ZHANG HAO of AND2BLE, appearing on Tails of Tales for the first time, could not contain his rage after learning the details of the cruel incident, stating, "She is like a devil." Experienced guest SOYOU also could not recover from the shock, repeatedly saying, "This is insane," in response to the cousin's shameless claims. Actor Park Tam-hee also let out a deep sigh in the face of the truth that continued to take unexpected turns.
The tragedy brought about by the ill-fated meeting between the cousin and her friends, and the identity of the true culprit hidden behind conflicting statements, will be revealed on Tails of Tales, airing on July 2 at 10:20 PM.
