Monsoon rain is currently falling, primarily in the southern regions.
The rain clouds that brought over 200mm of heavy downpours to Jeju Island have moved eastward, causing the precipitation band to weaken.
All heavy rain advisories previously in effect for the Jeju region have been lifted.
Today, Wednesday, July 1, rain is expected to continue until the afternoon in the southern parts of Gangwon Province and the Jeonbuk region, and until the evening or night in other southern areas and Jeju, before tapering off.
The expected rainfall is 5 to 40mm in the Jeju region, and 5 to 30mm in the Jeonnam and Gyeongnam regions.
Other areas are expected to see around 5mm of rain.
In the Seoul metropolitan area and northern Gangwon Province, where the main rain clouds are not reaching, there may be occasional showers as rain clouds develop.
The weather remains sultry.
Due to high humidity, the perceived temperature in Seoul is expected to reach 32°C (90°F) today.
In Yeoju, where a heatwave advisory is in effect, the perceived temperature is also expected to climb to 33°C (91°F).
In other regions as well, the perceived temperature will be about 1 to 2 degrees higher than the actual air temperature.
Monsoon rain is forecast to fall across the entire country starting next Monday.
