All seven public beaches in Busan have officially opened as of today.
The Busan Metropolitan Government announced that Gwangalli, Songdo, Dadaepo, Imrang, and Ilgwang beaches opened their doors at 9:00 a.m. today.
Haeundae and Songjeong beaches had already opened on June 26.
Gwangalli Beach, which opened today, has placed a total of 80 shared chairs at Namcheon Beach Park and Millak Beach Park for the convenience of visitors.
The service has also been improved to allow for the rental of picnic mats, which were previously only available for purchase.
Jellyfish exclusion nets, first introduced last year, have been installed again this year along a 100-meter stretch from the shoreline to prevent jellyfish stings among beachgoers.
Various events will also be held throughout the opening period.
In addition to the drone show held twice every Saturday, the International Women's Beach Volleyball Tournament is scheduled to take place from August 10 to 16.
Every weekend from 9:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., a section of Gwangalli Beach Road will be transformed into a "car-free cultural street," featuring various cultural events such as balcony concerts.
Dadaepo Beach will also host a series of festivals.
During the Busan Sea Festival, held from August 7 to 13, the Sunset Film Festival will take place, allowing visitors to enjoy movies against the backdrop of the Dadaepo sunset.
During this period, a "Youth Liberation Zone" will also be established in collaboration with 10 universities in Busan to host a university festival competition.
Songdo Beach has installed jellyfish exclusion nets for the first time this year to prevent stings.
The Songdo Comprehensive Tourist Information Center, a hub providing various tourism information and services to visitors, has also begun operations, and foot-washing facilities have been expanded.
In the five days since their opening, Haeundae Beach has attracted a total of 354,100 visitors, while Songjeong Beach has seen 78,363 visitors.
