President Lee Jae-myung will receive his second round of ministerial policy briefings since taking office, scheduled from July 15 to 21.
The Presidential Office announced today (July 1) that the briefings will be held over nine sessions, covering 140 public institutions, including the Office for Government Policy Coordination, 19 ministries, 6 agencies, 18 administrations, and 7 commissions.
The purpose of these briefings is to review whether the commitments made by each ministry during the first round of briefings at the end of last year are being properly implemented.
The sessions are expected to directly address the progress of reform tasks, including structural reforms, growth initiatives led by local governments, and projects for national normalization.
Furthermore, the Presidential Office explained that the briefings were organized to inform the public in detail about the outcomes and future plans of policies that directly impact people's livelihoods.
During the first round of briefings, President Lee made headlines by broadcasting the entire process live for the first time.
In addition, this round of briefings will include a "public observer group" consisting of approximately 200 citizens.
The format will include opening remarks by President Lee, reports from each agency, and open discussions, followed by the public observer group delivering voices from the field through questions and suggestions.
The Presidential Office described the format as "a public-participatory approach where the sovereign people, alongside the President, directly receive policy briefings and ask questions about matters of interest."
