Byun Jun-hyung of Anyang Jung Kwan Jang and Heo Hoon of Busan KCC have tied for the highest salary in the upcoming professional basketball season.
The Korean Basketball League (KBL) announced on June 30 that the registration for domestic players for the 2026-2027 season has concluded.
A total of 172 domestic and Asian quota players have completed their registration across the 10 clubs.
Among them, Byun Jun-hyung and Heo Hoon share the top spot, each receiving a salary of 800 million won.
This marks the first time Byun has reached the top spot since his professional debut, while Heo has secured the number one position for two consecutive seasons.
Cho Han-jin of the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus recorded the highest salary increase rate this season, signing a contract for a total of 300 million won, a 200 percent increase from his 100 million won salary last season.
Lee Yoon-gi of the Wonju DB Promy followed in second place, signing for 130 million won, a 189 percent increase from the previous season.
Lee Gwan-hee of the Seoul Samsung Thunders and Kim Dong-hyun of KCC have filed for salary arbitration after failing to reach an agreement with their respective clubs.
Lee Gwan-hee requested 320 million won, which is 90 million won higher than the club's offer, while Kim Dong-hyun requested 130 million won against the club's offer of 75 million won.
The salary cap for the 2026-2027 KBL season is 3 billion won, with the Goyang Sono Skygunners showing the highest utilization rate at 99.4 percent.
The Suwon kt Sonicboom and Seoul SK Knights followed at 97.7 percent each, with KCC at 97 percent.
