In the United States, a man in his 70s suffered a terrifying accident after tripping over an obstacle on the sidewalk.

The incident occurred in San Diego, California, where a man in his 70s tripped over the base of a parking meter that was protruding from the sidewalk.
According to the man's attorney, although the parking meter itself had been removed, the metal hardware used to secure the base remained, protruding more than 2.5 cm (about 1 inch) above the pavement.
The man reportedly suffered serious injuries, including fractures to his neck and lumbar spine, and is said to be still undergoing rehabilitation.
The man's side has filed a lawsuit seeking approximately 54 billion won in damages, claiming that the city neglected the hazardous condition.
