The National Assembly will hold a plenary session today, June 30, led by the Democratic Party of Korea, to organize the standing committees for the second half of the 22nd National Assembly.
The Democratic Party and other allied parties plan to elect chairs for standing committees allocated to the ruling party, including the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, as well as the chair of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts.
The approval motion for Prime Minister nominee Han Sung-sook is also expected to be processed during the session.
The People Power Party maintains its stance to block the plenary session, stating it was held without an agreement with the opposition party.
However, the possibility remains that the Democratic Party and the People Power Party may attempt to hold talks this morning and reach a consensus.
