Artist Studio, co-founded by actors Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung, is set to acquire management rights of Corpus Korea.
On June 29, Artist Studio announced, "An investment consortium led by Artist Studio is pursuing a strategic investment of up to 29 billion won alongside the acquisition of management rights for Corpus Korea." The company emphasized that this decision is not merely a financial investment, but a decisive move to build a comprehensive strategic value chain within the content industry.
The investment consortium includes Artist Studio as the lead, joined by content production companies Jidam Media and Story Ark Studio, both known for their strong capabilities.
Artist Studio stated, "The core of this investment is undoubtedly the completion of a 'production-channel-distribution' value chain. Artist Studio's exceptional production capabilities, MBN's channel competitiveness, and Corpus Korea's unrivaled distribution network will be integrated. With this, Artist Studio will establish a foundation as a comprehensive content studio to fully implement its strategy of strengthening content competitiveness."
Through this acquisition, Artist Studio will move away from its existing business model centered on individual production projects and establish a business system based on One Source Multi-Use (OSMU) that encompasses the entire process from content planning to production and distribution.
The company also plans to embark on a full-scale expansion of its global business. By leveraging the robust global distribution network that Corpus Korea has built, Artist Studio intends to accelerate the overseas expansion of its content and create diversified monetization opportunities.
Ahn Hyung-jo, CEO of Artist Studio, said, "This investment is significant not just as a management acquisition or financial investment, but as the starting point for building an integrated value chain that connects the entire content industry."
