Two middle school students have been apprehended by police after stealing a credit card from a parked vehicle and using it to make 11 unauthorized purchases.
Incheon Bupyeong Police Station announced today (June 29) that they are investigating two middle school girls, identified as A and B, on charges of special larceny, fraud, and violation of the Credit Specialized Financial Business Act.
A and her accomplice are accused of stealing a credit card from a vehicle parked at an apartment complex in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, around 6:00 a.m. yesterday (June 27).
It is reported that they used the stolen card to make 11 transactions, purchasing goods worth several hundred thousand won.
Upon receiving the report, police tracked the suspects' movements and apprehended them around 2:00 p.m. that same day.
The investigation revealed that one of the two suspects is a minor under the age of 14, classified as a juvenile offender (under the age of criminal responsibility), and is therefore exempt from criminal punishment.
A police official stated, "Only one of the two suspects is subject to criminal prosecution. We plan to determine whether to refer the juvenile offender to the family court's juvenile division following further investigation."
