The FIFA world ranking of the South Korean national football team has plummeted to 32nd following a disappointing performance that led to their elimination from the group stage of the 2026 North and Central America World Cup.
According to the men's world football rankings updated by FIFA on June 29 (KST), South Korea is now ranked 32nd with 1,558.72 points.

This marks South Korea's lowest FIFA ranking in four years and six months, since the team was ranked 33rd in December 2021.
South Korea had consistently maintained a ranking in the 20s since reaching 29th in the rankings released in February 2022.
The team was ranked 22nd last December during the World Cup group stage draw and 25th just before the tournament began.
However, after a 2-1 comeback victory against the Czech Republic in the first group stage match, the team suffered a 0-1 loss to co-host Mexico and a shocking 0-1 defeat to South Africa, which was considered the weakest team in the group, causing them to slide into the 30s.
