Actor Choi Woo-shik has addressed allegations of racism after a Black female fan claimed he ignored her request for an autograph.
Choi explained that he simply ran out of time.
Recently, an overseas social media user posted a video of her encounter with Choi at a fashion show in Paris, France.
The user claimed that she tried to get an autograph from the actor, but he did not even make eye contact with her and left after signing for other fans nearby.
She added that while she does not use the word racism lightly, it was difficult to understand why he only signed for others, noting that she was the only Black person present at the time.
However, other videos showed the actor greeting Black fans, leading some to argue that the incident was not a case of racism.
Yesterday, Choi posted on social media, apologizing if he had missed her, explaining that he tried to sign as much as possible but ran out of time, and expressing his hope to meet her again next time.
