Lyn and Baek Z Young are on a mission to keep up with the latest trends.
On the episode of SBS's My Little Old Boy that aired on the 28th, Lyn was seen enjoying a fun day out with Baek Z Young.
During the broadcast, the two went shopping for jelly shoes before heading out for a meal. While waiting for their food, Lyn suggested to Baek Z Young, "How about a slang quiz to help you understand modern culture?"
Baek Z Young showed her competitive side, saying, "I really don't know anything. I want to get them right." Lyn started off by asking, "There is a phrase that is used a lot these days: 'bam-ti-na-da' (looking or acting 'bam-ti'). Do you know what it means?"
Facing a challenge from the very first question, Baek Z Young pondered for a moment before guessing, "Does it mean driving a Daewoo Tico in the middle of the night? Since the Tico is a rare car, maybe it refers to someone who uses classic items at night?"
Lyn responded, "That is a fresh way of thinking," and explained, "The meaning of 'bam-ti' is a negative term used to describe something tacky, awkward, or lame."
Lyn continued, "This is a slang term that has been used since 2021. It is an abbreviation. Do you know what 'seul-bul-jae' means?" Baek Z Young replied, "I think I know. Is it something like 'self-bul-jesa' (self-ancestral rite)? Is it a word that came about because people hate going to ancestral rites?"
Lyn gave her a hint, saying, "The 'seul' stands for 'seuseuro' (by oneself)." Baek Z Young then cracked everyone up by guessing, "Marinating bulgogi by oneself?"
Meanwhile, the two also drew attention that day by trying out unconventional food combinations, such as ice cream tteokbokki and ice cream perilla seed udon, in an attempt to keep up with the MZ generation.
