Former President Biden Calls President Trump a "Loser"

Former U.S. President Joe Biden has launched a scathing attack on incumbent President Donald Trump, calling him a "loser."

According to U.S. media outlets including CNN on Saturday (local time), the former president criticized various business ventures pursued by President Trump during a Democratic Party fundraising event held at a casino in Maryland on Friday (June 27).

"This isn't just a project to satisfy his vanity. He wanted to tear down the East Wing of the White House to build his own ballroom, put his name on the Kennedy Center, and even hired his own pool manager to fix the Reflecting Pool," Biden said. "What a loser."

He continued, "The Reflecting Pool reflects something much worse than the narcissism and incompetence at the heart of this administration. It's corruption. Brazen, blatant corruption. Corruption on a scale that we have never seen in any administration in American history," he claimed.

Regarding the "Justice for All" fund promoted by President Trump, the former president said, "What makes me angry is that Trump wants to take taxpayer money—your money—and give it to the people who participated in the January 6th Capitol riot. That’s what he wants to do." He added, "These people don't deserve to be rewarded. They deserve to be in jail for a long time."

This sharp criticism from the former president comes exactly two years after the two men faced off in a presidential debate in 2024.

During that debate held in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 27, 2024, the former president stuttered multiple times, made remarks that were out of context, and was seen staring blankly while President Trump was speaking.

Following that debate, the former president faced intense calls from within the Democratic Party to step down as the nominee, and he ultimately announced his withdrawal from the re-election race on July 24 of that same year.

Regarding the former president's speech on Friday, CNN assessed that "Biden's 10-minute speech amounts to one of his most direct criticisms of President Trump since leaving office."
