Hiker in His 50s Dies of Cardiac Arrest on Mt. Unjang in Wanju, Jeonbuk

At approximately 7:35 a.m. today (June 27), a report was received that a hiker had been found collapsed face-down on a trail on Mt. Unjang in Dongsang-myeon, Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do.

The caller performed CPR under the guidance of the 119 emergency medical dispatch center. Although firefighters arrived at the scene and transported the man, identified as a 50-year-old surnamed A, to a hospital, he was eventually pronounced dead.

Police and fire authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
