The Gyeonggi Arts Center announced that it will host the '2026 G-ARTS Festival' starting today (June 26) through July 31.
The event, which is being held for the first time this year, was organized with the aim of discovering excellent performing arts works and expanding opportunities for creative production.
During the festival period, the center will hold the 'Gyeonggi Performing Arts Festival,' featuring 42 performances at the center and various venues across the province.
The lineup includes diverse works, such as the Gyeonggi Provincial Dance Company's dance drama 'Gwigwi Naeryeok' and the Gyeonggi Sinawi Orchestra's musical drama 'Baekbeom Kim Koo: A Nation of Culture,' along with various international invited works and programs.
From June 26 to 27, the 'Gyeonggi Performing Arts Meeting' (GPAM) will take place, connecting local art groups with theaters, producers, and experts.
To facilitate this, the center plans to conduct networking programs, including one-on-one meetings, showcases, and roundtable discussions.
The GPAM will also provide a venue for performing arts experts from five countries—including Japan, Hong Kong, Europe, Australia, and Scotland—to discuss trends in the relevant market.
In addition, the 'G-ARTS AWARDS' will be held to present awards to six creative teams in theater, dance, and music selected through an open call.
The winning groups will receive support, such as future opportunities to connect with performance venues.
Kim Sang-hoe, President of the Gyeonggi Arts Center, stated, "This event is not just a festival, but a representative performing arts platform for Gyeonggi Province that discovers excellent performing arts content, connects theaters with relevant groups, and expands domestic and international markets."
