Presidential Office Denies Reports of Meeting Between National Security Advisor Wi Sung-lac and Senior Russian Official

The Presidential Office stated on June 25 that media reports claiming National Security Advisor Wi Sung-lac met with a senior Russian government official during his visit to Kazakhstan from May 28 to 30 are "not true."

The Presidential Office clarified, "The National Security Advisor's visit to Kazakhstan was for bilateral consultations between South Korea and Kazakhstan."

Furthermore, it explained, "South Korea and Russia are maintaining necessary communication through diplomatic channels, including their respective embassies, to stably manage bilateral relations and protect our citizens and businesses."
