Actor Lee Joon is set to take on the role of a National Tax Service investigation team leader.
Having expanded his career across dramas, films, musicals, hosting, reality variety shows, and YouTube content, Lee Joon is now gearing up for a new acting transformation in the short-form drama 'The Tax Reaper'.
'The Tax Reaper', a short-form adaptation of the original work by author Dongmyeon Geobugi, is a cathartic tax-collection action drama. It follows Shin Jae-hyun, a National Tax Service official with the special ability to see the exact amount of tax evasion committed by others, as he tracks down and delivers satisfying retribution against the corruption of conglomerates and the elite. The original work, which garnered immense love from readers for its protagonist who refuses to bow to immense power, realistic themes, and unpredictable plot twists, has built a solid fanbase through its web novel and webtoon versions.
Lee Joon will play the role of Shin Jae-hyun, a character who uses his ability to see tax evasion to pursue the corruption of massive corporations and power brokers that no one else dares to touch. As a character with cool-headed judgment and strong convictions, he is expected to lead the story from the center of the action.
Lee Joon has previously showcased his versatile acting skills across various genres, including the dramas 'The Escape of the Seven', 'The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection', 'Bloody Heart', and 'Bulgasal: Immortal Souls', as well as the film 'Luck-Key'.
Expectations are high among prospective viewers as to how Lee Joon will portray Shin Jae-hyun, a tax investigation team leader who oscillates between cold-blooded professionalism and human agony.
'The Tax Reaper', which promises to reveal yet another side of Lee Joon's charm, will be released exclusively on the global short-form drama platform 'Lezhin Snack' in the second half of this year.
