A fire broke out at a one-story restaurant building in Moga-myeon, Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, around 6:30 p.m. today (June 18).
Fire authorities, dispatched to the scene after receiving the report, deployed 14 pieces of equipment and 42 personnel to bring the blaze under control within an hour and a half.
It was confirmed that there were no casualties, as 27 people, including staff, evacuated on their own.
As the fire generated a large amount of smoke, the city of Icheon issued an emergency alert, advising drivers to detour and nearby residents to keep their windows closed.
Police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact scale of the damage and the cause of the fire once the flames are completely extinguished.
