Actor Kim Soo-hyun is set to resume his activities after about a year, starting with a commercial shoot.

According to a media report on June 8, Kim Soo-hyun will participate in a commercial shoot for a leading fashion brand in the Philippines on July 14. This marks his first official schedule in about a year and three months since halting his activities following a controversy surrounding his private life involving the late Kim Sae-ron last year.

Previously, Kim Se-ui, the head of the YouTube channel Hover Lab, was arrested and referred to the prosecution on charges of repeatedly spreading claims and transcripts suggesting that Kim Soo-hyun had dated the late Kim Sae-ron since she was a minor, through YouTube broadcasts and press conferences from March to May of last year. The police believe that during this process, Kim Se-ui used generative AI to distort the voice of the late Kim Sae-ron, and that some of the materials presented as evidence of their relationship were also fabricated.

Following Kim Se-ui's arrest and referral, the damages lawsuits filed by advertisers, which had been suspended, have also resumed.

Kim Soo-hyun is currently facing damages lawsuits totaling around 10 billion KRW from multiple advertisers. Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun's side is reportedly planning to increase the claim amount in their damages lawsuit against Kim Se-ui from the original 12 billion KRW to 30 billion KRW.
