The movie 'COLONY' has surpassed 4 million viewers nationwide in just 14 days since its release.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for theater tickets on June 4, 'COLONY' attracted 331,490 viewers nationwide on June 3, maintaining its number one spot at the box office. The cumulative number of viewers stands at 4,043,759.
With this, 'COLONY' has reached the 4 million mark at the fastest pace among all films released in 2026. It surpassed 1 million viewers on its 4th day, 2 million on its 5th day, 3 million on its 10th day, and 4 million on its 14th day of release. Released on May 21, 'COLONY' was able to rapidly cross the 4 million mark thanks to favorable factors such as two weekends, the substitute holiday for Buddha's Birthday, and the local election day.
Having lowered its break-even point to 3 million viewers through pre-sales to 120 countries before its release, 'COLONY' is now celebrating as it generates profits that exceed expectations.
