The upcoming drama "Agent Kim Reactivated" has released its first teaser, showcasing actor So Ji-sub's overwhelming charisma and teasing the birth of an epic revenge action series that will deliver ultimate vicarious satisfaction to fathers worldwide.
Scheduled to premiere on June 26, SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Agent Kim Reactivated" (written by Nam Dae-jung, directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun) is a "father-universe" revenge action drama. It follows the "most ordinary" father in the world as he becomes the "most dangerous" man to rescue his only daughter. Based on the highly popular Naver webtoon of the same name, the series brings together writer Nam Dae-jung of the film "Love Reset", director Lee Seung-young of the dramas "Wonderful World" and "Voice 2", and rising director Lee So-eun.
The first teaser video for "Agent Kim Reactivated", released on June 1, begins in a chilling late-night atmosphere with a grief-stricken Manager Kim (played by So Ji-sub) asking, "Where is she?" as he flings open the door of a mysterious shipping container.
Leaving behind his intense past as a former North-South Korean secret agent, Manager Kim has been living as an ordinary office worker and a doting father in accordance with his late wife's wishes. However, his peaceful daily life is shattered by the tearful voice of his daughter MINJI (played by Seo Su-min). As his daughter falls into danger amidst a pouring rain, Manager Kim adjusts his glasses and finally awakens, unleashing a terrifying aura.
Next, the caption "The most ordinary father is coming" appears, kicking off a whirlwind of dramatic transformations and action-packed showtimes for the fathers. The sequence begins with Manager Kim revealing his sharp six-pack through a torn shirt, followed by Seong Han-soo (played by Choi Dae-hoon) wearing a Taekwondo uniform with a determined look, and Park Jin-cheol (played by Yoon Kyung-ho) in military uniform, shouting "Rock and roll!" while firing a bazooka.
Following the line, "A man who lived like a dead mouse for over a decade has suddenly exploded," Manager Kim's chilling warning echoes: "If you touch even a single hair on my daughter's head..." The unexpected action from the fathers—combining Park Jin-cheol's raw, bare-handed power with Seong Han-soo's sharp flying kicks—delivers a thrilling rush of dopamine.
Adding to the suspense are mysterious appearances by Joo Kang-chan (played by Joo Sang-wook) with a sinister smirk, Sang-ah (played by Son Na-eun) with a serious expression, and Kang Sung (played by Kim Sung-kyu), a secretive North Korean agent. In particular, the end of the video features a furious Manager Kim blowing away an assailant with a single blow, teasing an explosive "nuclear punch" ending that promises pure catharsis.
