Actress Joo Hae-eun will star in 'The Roundup 5', the latest installment of South Korea's representative 10-million-viewer franchise.

On June 1, her agency Yooborn Company announced, "Joo Hae-eun will play the role of 'Jung Ji-won' in 'The Roundup 5'."

'The Roundup 5', the fifth film in 'The Roundup' series—which set an unprecedented box office record as the first Korean film franchise to achieve a triple 10-million admissions milestone—follows the crime-busting operation of "monster cop" 'Ma Seok-do' (played by Don Lee) as he faces off against 'Lee Kang-tae' (played by Kim Jae-young), who begins committing heinous crimes after an eight-year wait.

Joo Hae-eun takes on the role of 'Jung Ji-won', a profiler who actively leads investigations in cooperation with the Metropolitan Investigation Unit to catch increasingly sophisticated criminal forces. She is expected to portray the character of Jung Ji-won with a calm yet charismatic demeanor, showcasing perfect teamwork with 'Ma Seok-do'.

Having made her debut and gained recognition in the film 'Swing Kids', Joo Hae-eun has showcased her versatility across various genres, including Netflix's 'The Bequeathed' and 'Hellbound' Season 2. Last year, she also received critical acclaim for her brief but powerful presence as 'Yeom Se-ryeong' in Disney+'s 'Nine Puzzles'.

'The Roundup 5' began principal photography after cranking in on May 24.
