The movie 'COLONY' has topped the weekend box office for two consecutive weeks.

According to the Korean Film Council's (KOFIC) integrated computer network for theater tickets on June 1, 'COLONY' drew 971,020 viewers nationwide from Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31. The cumulative number of viewers stands at 3,474,934.

After its release on May 21, 'COLONY' surpassed 1 million viewers in 4 days, 2 million in 5 days, and 3 million in 10 days. Having successfully crossed its break-even point of 3 million viewers during its second weekend, the film is now on track to surpass the 4 million mark sometime this week.

'COLONY' is a film that depicts the story of isolated survivors in a sealed building following a mysterious infection outbreak, fighting against infected individuals who evolve in unpredictable ways. Although it is a blockbuster with a production budget of approximately 20 billion KRW, pre-sales to 124 countries prior to its release significantly lowered its break-even point.
