NCT’s DOYOUNG, who is currently serving in the military, has continued his positive influence by donating 100 million won to prevent suicide and spread a culture of respecting life.

On May 29, the Korea Foundation for Suicide Prevention (KFSP) announced, "DOYOUNG, who is active as an Ambassador for Life for the 'Cheonmyeong Jikim Project,' has made a designated donation of 100 million won to support South Korean military personnel as well as children and adolescents from families bereaved by suicide." The "Cheonmyeong Jikim Project" is a nationwide suicide prevention initiative involving the government, the private sector, and the public, with the goal of reducing suicide deaths by 1,000 in 2026.

This donation was made possible as DOYOUNG, who has consistently practiced giving, expressed his desire to help recover the mental health of military personnel and aid in the healing of children and adolescents from families bereaved by suicide. Reflecting the donor's wishes, the foundation plans to categorize the beneficiaries into children and adolescents of suicide-bereaved families, military personnel, and high-risk military personnel, and will cooperate with related organizations to carry out practical support projects.

DOYOUNG shared, "One of the things I often say to my fans is, 'Tomorrow will surely be happier than today.' Although there are days that feel a bit overwhelming and difficult, I believe that tomorrow will ultimately move a step closer in a warmer and happier direction than today." He added, "I hope my support is delivered through this donation, and I hope it becomes a source of strength that gives everyone courage."

Jung Yun-soon, the director of the Korea Foundation for Suicide Prevention, expressed gratitude, saying, "Protecting the mental health of military personnel and helping children and adolescents from suicide-bereaved families overcome the pain of loss are core tasks in building our society's suicide prevention safety net." She added, "DOYOUNG's heartfelt donation will serve as a precious lifeline that reconnects those on the brink of despair back to society."

Since his debut, DOYOUNG has established himself as a leading donor artist in K-pop, consistently engaging in charitable activities ranging from disaster relief support to sponsoring children and youth, assisting young adults preparing for independence, and improving educational environments overseas.
