Actress Kim Bin-woo (43) has issued a direct apology after facing criticism for causing noise disturbances during her late-night live broadcasts.
On May 11, as clips from her live broadcasts began circulating online, Kim took to her social media to state, "I am deeply reflecting on my lack of consideration. I will be more careful in the future. I am sorry."
Previously, starting in April, Kim had been conducting regular live broadcasts on a streaming platform where she would wear light-up glasses, hold a microphone, and dance and sing to music. During a broadcast on April 24, Kim danced and shouted along to Country Kko Kko’s "Gimme Gimme," adding the caption, "No one can keep up with my energy. I was happy today, thanks to my Bangul-i (fans)."
Furthermore, earlier this month, Kim held another broadcast where she danced and made high-pitched noises, captioning it, "Thank you to all the Bangul-i who stayed with me until late. Thank you to all the viewers." The broadcast concept resembled a small club inside her home. When one netizen commented, "Your energy is really going for it," Kim replied, "I relieve stress through dance."
The issue arose because these broadcasts were taking place well past 1:00 AM. When a viewer asked, "Do you live in an apartment?" Kim replied, "I live on the first floor, you know?" Some pointed out that regardless of being on the first floor, shouting and dancing in a multi-unit residential building during the early morning hours can disturb other households. Due to the structure of such buildings, noise and vibrations can travel not only through the floor but also through walls and pillars to neighboring units, including those above and diagonally adjacent.
Kim Bin-woo, who debuted in 2002 on the KBS 2TV show "War of roses", has appeared in various dramas and films. Since her marriage in 2015, she has been focusing on raising her daughter and son.
