Singer YENA is leading a "retro dance boom" with her track "CATCH CATCH."
As of the 5th, the music video for "CATCH CATCH," the title track of YENA's fifth mini-album "LOVE CATCHER," has surpassed 5.17 million views on Bilibili, a major Chinese video platform. This marks the highest view count among K-pop songs released in 2026 and the first K-pop content of the year to exceed 5 million views.
In particular, YENA received an enthusiastic response from local fans when she performed the Chinese version of the song at her concert in Macau last month. The fan-cam video of the performance also surpassed 1 million views, proving the high level of interest.
Success is also continuing on QQ Music, China's largest music platform. The Chinese version of "CATCH CATCH" ranked 3rd on the weekly Korean chart for the period of April 30 to May 7, while the Korean version placed 6th. The Korean version has consistently remained in the Top 10 since its release, and the Chinese version has also landed in the upper ranks of major charts, including the "Peak Trend Chart," "Real-time New Song Chart," and "Popular Song Chart."
The song's popularity on short-form platforms is also overwhelming. The "CATCH CATCH" challenge currently underway on Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok) has surpassed 900 million cumulative views and is on the verge of reaching 1 billion. The upward trend has continued steadily even about two months after the album's release, and this has led to an increase of approximately 400,000 followers on YENA's Douyin account.
She has also made her presence felt on music programs. YENA was nominated for 1st place on MBC's "Show! Music Core," proving both her digital music performance and popularity. Furthermore, she is continuing to expand her fandom across various platforms, with an increase of approximately 1 million TikTok followers, surpassing 1 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, and gaining about 100,000 new followers on her official Instagram.
