Actor-singer Park Jihoon is riding the momentum of the film “The King's Warden,” which ranks No. 2 all time at the Korean box office, while teeing up global moves and new music.

He recently landed the May cover of Singles Japan, making his presence known as May’s main character―just like his fandom name, MAY.

In an interview, Park said of the film’s success, “I’m grateful for all the love,” adding, “I’m trying not to get carried away and to live as usual.” On Wanna One’s reality show “Wanna One Go: Back to Base,” which brought the group together again after seven years, he recalled, “Those days remain like a dream.”

Explaining why he chose his next project, “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier,” he said, “The military setting intrigued me. It’s not just a standard military story―the world expands through cooking. Above all, the script was really fun,” raising anticipation.

Known for taking on webtoon-based projects, he added that he focuses on capturing each character’s core rather than recreating the webtoon frame by frame.

Park Jihoon will release his first single album, “RE:FLECT,” at 6 p.m. on April 29. The album looks back on past times and emotions to shine a light on who he is now.
