A woman who says she was abused by a man known as the older brother of a popular girl group member has posted a copy of their marriage registration receipt.
A shared the photo on her social media, writing, "Please don't say I'm lying."
The document shows a marriage registration was filed at the Seocho District Office in Seoul on July 9, 2025. A says this proves they were legally married and claims the violence began after the filing. The document also states she is 14 years younger than her husband.
Previously, A alleged she endured long-term assault and gaslighting in the relationship.
"I did everything he told me to, but he still hit me. When I said I couldn't breathe and couldn't live like this, he'd say, 'So are you asking for a divorce?' and then beat me like crazy. He hit me for not saying 'I love you,' forced me to kneel, and made me apologize," she said. "I was scared and ran back to my parents' home, but he gaslit me, saying it was my fault for leaving my husband, so I went back. Recently, he even came to my parents' place, and my family is living in fear," she added.
A also posted what appear to be hospital records. One entry states, "Around November 2025, after being hit by my husband at a pension, I called 112 while confined at home," along with diagnoses including a headache and bruises on her right leg and hand.
On social media, A said, "When we first met, I was cheerful. After the marriage filing, my expression darkened and I barely spoke. I even walked around with bandages all over my arm." She added, "I only found out later that he was the older brother of a popular girl group member," making it clear she has no connection to the sister.
