The movie 'My Name', based on the Jeju April 3 Incident, exceeded 100,000 viewers nationwide.

According to the Korea Film Council's integrated computer network for movie theater admissions on the 20th, 'My Name' ranked 4th in the weekend box office, mobilizing 60,953 people nationwide from the 17th to the 19th. The cumulative number of viewers was 100,141.

'My Name', which was released on the 15th, attracted attention as President Lee Jae-myung watched the movie on the day of its release. After watching the movie that day, President Lee sent a message saying, "The statute of limitations on crimes committed by state violence must be abolished and future generations must be forever held accountable. I hope that we will remember the pain of Jeju and discover hope and courage beyond the wounds."

'My Name' has an audience rating of close to 9, raising expectations of a word-of-mouth effect. Group viewings are also continuing, so prospects for long-term box office success are bright.

'My Name' is a mystery drama about an 18-year-old boy, Young-ok, who wants to give up his old name, his mother, Jeong-sun, who must keep that name, and the process of finding the promise that happened 50 years ago hidden behind the name. Directed by socialist director Jeong Ji-young, Yeom Hye-ran and Shin Woo-bin played the lead roles.
