Horror film Salmokji held the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office for the second week in a row.
According to the Korean Film Council’s box office data on the 20th, Salmokji drew 472,109 moviegoers nationwide from April 17 to 19. Its cumulative admissions stand at 1,461,837.
Salmokji follows a mysterious figure caught on a Salmokji road-view image. When a crew heads to a reservoir to reshoot, they come face-to-face with something lurking in the deep, black water.
Released on April 8, the film surpassed its break-even point of 800,000 admissions within a week. It topped 1 million in 10 days and kept that momentum into its second weekend. At this pace, it could cross 2 million by this weekend.
