Horror film 'Salmokji : Whispering Water' crossed 1 million moviegoers today (the 17th), just 10 days after release.
Distributor Showbox announced that 'Salmokji : Whispering Water' has recorded a cumulative 1,018,115 admissions (per the Korean Film Council’s box office database). It’s the fastest pace for a horror title since 2019’s 'Metamorphosis'.
'Salmokji : Whispering Water' follows a crew who spot a mysterious figure on a road-view image. When they head to a reservoir to reshoot, they come face-to-face with something lurking in the dark, deep water.
Released on April 8, 'Salmokji : Whispering Water' cleared its break-even point (800,000 admissions) in seven days and has now surpassed 1 million, injecting energy into the off-season box office.
