‘Sold Out on You’ is teasing a stacked supporting cast―Ko Du-shim, Yoon Byung-hee, Jo Bok-rae, Shin Dong-mi, Park Ye-young, Kim Seo-an, and Yoon Jae-chan―promising a finely tuned rom-com.
Premiering Wednesday, April 22, SBS’s new Wed-Thu drama ‘Sold Out on You’ (written by Jin Seung-hee, directed by Ahn Jong-yeon) is a romantic comedy about perfectionist farmer Matthew Lee (Ahn Hyo-seop) and sellout-queen home shopping host Dam Ye-jin (Chae Won-bin) whose lives get tangled day and night.
On the 10th, the production unveiled key characters who will expand the story alongside Ahn Hyo-seop and Chae Won-bin.
First up, Ko Du-shim adds gravitas as Song Hakdaek, the true powerhouse and respected elder of Deokpung Village. Known for a heart bigger than any field and generosity deeper than the sea, she has doted on Matthew Lee―who arrived in Deokpung five years ago―like her own son. Why did she pour so much care into an outsider? Curiosity is high.
Yoon Byung-hee plays Kang Mu-won, Matthew Lee’s co-CEO at their raw materials company. A longtime “Matthew Lee loyalist,” he recognized Matthew’s talent early and tirelessly courted him to go into business together. Backed by serious resources and unwavering support no matter what, Kang Mu-won’s moves are set to draw attention.
Jo Bok-rae takes on Park Gwang-mo, the field manager at Matthew Lee’s farm. As the next-generation farmer of Deokpung Village, he’s fiercely proud of his hometown and his work―and once he starts something, he finishes it. But behind that stubborn grit lies a fragile side he can’t tell anyone. His unexpected contrast―country-strong on the outside, surprising within―piques interest.
Shin Dong-mi shows cool, steely charisma as Dong Hyun-gi, a director at Hit Home Shopping where host Dam Ye-jin works. As Korea’s first-ever home shopping host and a record-setter in the industry, she has lived wholly for work and the company. All eyes are on result-driven Dong Hyun-gi, who wields major influence at the very center of the home shopping world.
Park Ye-young plays Um Seong-mi, a Hit Home Shopping PD with fire in her veins. She’s blunt and quick to flare up, earning gripes from hosts―yet the one person who can handle her is Dam Ye-jin. The duo’s tight teamwork, forged by pure passion for the job, is building serious anticipation.
Kim Seo-an is Najin, the owner of “Somi’s General Store” in Deokpung Village. She’s a savvy young boss who instantly decodes the elders’ cryptic requests and delivers exactly what they need. Expect Najin to rack up “sold-out” moments in Deokpung―not on TV―thanks to her exceptional business instincts.
Yoon Jae-chan spotlights the grit and smarts of Hit Home Shopping MD Hwang Gi-hong. Dubbed an “ace,” he’s survived three years on Dam Ye-jin’s notoriously demanding show―known as a graveyard for MDs―steadily building a rock-solid resume. His realistic daily grind will resonate with viewers.
From a peaceful countryside to a cutthroat city, these distinctive characters bring their own backstories and fresh arcs. Most of all, their crisscrossing relationships promise high-voltage synergy that will supercharge Matthew Lee and Dam Ye-jin’s romance.
