Chef Kwon Seong-joon cheered on the young cooking prodigies.
On the April 9 episode of SBS’s “Finding Genius: Infinity”, a cooking showdown between prodigies unfolded.
Special guest judge Chef Kwon Seong-joon personally evaluated their dishes.
He praised Goseong’s “Knife Master” Lee Yeon-woo, saying, “The octopus is cooked to a great doneness and pairs well with the sauce.”
For Park Eun-chong―nicknamed “Aljalddakkkalshop” (a slangy way of saying someone handles everything cleanly and skillfully)―he raved, “Pure clean. The seasoning is even and perfect, on par with an adult chef.”
On “Doneness Genius” Jung Joon-woo’s plate, he said, “True to your nickname, you cooked the meat extremely well. And the flavor balance of the ravioli impressed me.”
After the critiques, Chef Kwon named Park Eun-chong the final winner. Park was recognized for delivering the most stable dish, while Chef Kwon added that the futures of the other two prodigies also look bright.
Park Eun-chong, who took first place, smiled wide and said, “I loved hearing that my dish felt like Chef Son Jong-won’s and that it was close to pro level.”
The other two kids said, “We’re satisfied just to have him taste our food and compliment us,” drawing attention.
To close, Chef Kwon offered heartfelt advice: “From now on, don’t trap yourselves in just cooking. Travel a lot, eat plenty of delicious food, and keep building your experience.”
