Jeon Min-chul, who once captivated viewers as a “ballet prodigy,” returns to SBS’s "Finding Genius" as a world-class ballet dancer―nine years later.

"Finding Genius" is back after seven years with a new name: "Finding Genius: Infinity". Premiering on the 2nd, SBS’s "Finding Genius: Infinity" evolves beyond discovering hidden talent across Korea. It now follows their growth and looks ahead to their future―a next-gen, expanded-format project. The MC lineup features actor Cha Tae-hyun, OH MY GIRL’s MIMI, and admissions-focused YouTuber Mimiminu.

In the series premiere, the show checks in on Jeon Min-chul, who left a strong impression in the 2017 "Finding Genius" "Billy Elliot the Musical" episode. Back then, he stood out with elegant lines and powerful expression. But he hit roadblocks, from body changes during adolescence to his father’s opposition. Even so, the boy who refused to give up on becoming a dancer moved viewers deeply.

Nine years on, Jeon Min-chul has grown into a global talent. He is now a First Soloist with the Mariinsky Ballet in Russia, one of the world’s premier ballet companies.

“I spent the past nine years working hard and loving ballet, step by step making my dream come true,” Jeon says of his triumphant return. “I’m proud that the journey wasn’t in vain, and I’m happy and excited to be back on 'Finding Genius'.” Watching in the studio, Cha Tae-hyun, MIMI, and Mimiminu reacted with, “You grew up so well,” and “I’ve got chills.”

The episode also spotlights four next-generation “Billy Elliot” hopefuls―young dancers dreaming of becoming the “second Jeon Min-chul.” Ahead of the musical’s fourth run in Korea, Billy Elliot leads Kim Woo-jin, Park Ji-hoo, Kim Seung-ju, and Cho Yoon-woo appear, showing their passion through long hours of training and fierce competition.

Musical actor Choi Jung-won praises them, saying, “From the moment I first met them, they had everything that makes Billy.” The four boys plan to prove their limitless potential with strong skills across the board―ballet, tap, acrobatics, acting, and expression.

With help from the "Finding Genius: Infinity" team, the boys also meet Jeon Min-chul for a meaningful mentoring session. “How can we achieve our dreams?” they ask. Jeon answers with heartfelt advice drawn from his own experience.

"Finding Genius: Infinity", capturing the journey of Jeon Min-chul―who turned his dream into reality―and the bright “Billy Elliot” hopefuls following in his footsteps, premieres Thursday the 2nd at 9 p.m.
