The horror film ‘Salmokji : Whispering Water’ is steadily climbing in pre-sales with one week to go before release.
According to the Korean Film Council’s advance sales chart on the 1st, ‘Salmokji : Whispering Water’ holds a 10.7% share with 28,000 tickets sold, ranking No. 3 in pre-sales. That’s a solid showing for a film still a week out.
Rivals ‘The King's Warden’ and ‘Project Hail Mary’ are both trending down, opening the door for the new release ‘Salmokji : Whispering Water’ to potentially debut at No. 1 next week.
‘Salmokji : Whispering Water’ follows a Street View filming crew who step into Salmokji Reservoir, a site infamous for eerie rumors―and everything that unfolds after. It’s a horror title rooted in “gwedam,” Korea’s chilling urban-legend lore.
With a concept, direction, and cast aimed squarely at Gen Z moviegoers, expectations are high. Notably, it’s slated to become the first narrative feature to open in four-sided ScreenX, promising an intensely immersive, trapped-in-the-scene kind of fear.
